WB payment flow (condensed)

  1. Generate e-Assessment Slip on igr.wb.gov.in → note Query Number/Year.
  2. Pay via GRIPS → e-Payment of Stamp Duty & Reg Fees → download e-Challan (GRN+BRN).
  3. For >₹50L: buyer logs to NSDL 26QB → pay 1% TDS → download Form 16B. Carry to SRO along with e-Challan.

Is TDS part of stamp duty?

No. TDS is income-tax deducted from the seller’s consideration and not paid at the SRO. Your total budget should include it, though.

How to convert Katha to sq ft in West Bengal?

Multiply Katha × 720. Example: 2 Katha = 1,440 sq ft. 1 Bigha in WB = 20 Katha = 14,400 sq ft (different from some other states where 1 Bigha = 13,200 sq ft – use WB standard here).

Can I pay stamp duty online?

Yes – fully via GRIPS. No need to buy physical non-judicial stamp paper for sale deeds; e-Challan is accepted at SRO.

Disclaimer: Estimator only – SRO assessment is final. Conversions use WB convention (Katha=720 sq ft). Last verified August 2026. All calculations run in your browser.
